You can also delay the oxidation process by storing your jewelry as airtight as possible. It's best not to leave your silver jewelry in an open jewelry dish but to keep it in a closed jewelry box. 

If your jewelry has tarnished a bit and has small dark discolorations, don't worry, you can easily remove these marks with a cotton cloth and, if necessary, a gentle cleaning liquid.
