Tips & Tricks for our wood products

We love our wooden products - whether it's our wooden spoons, our breakfast boards, the trays, or our egg cups. To ensure you enjoy our wooden products even more, today we show you in our little guide how to best care for them.

Our tip: The best way is to rub the wooden products on all sides with a neutral oil before first use. Linseed oil is best suited for this. Today, I will first show you how we treat our Mini Schneidebretter made of beech wood. We like to use these in our office for fresh vegetables, cookies, or delicious muffins. Since food often leaves marks on untreated wooden boards, it was especially important for us to treat them so they continue to look beautiful.

All you need for the treatment is your favorite cutting board, a small bowl of oil, and a dry sponge cloth. Then you can get started. Simply dip a corner of your sponge cloth into the oil and then evenly spread it over the cutting board. Important: Don’t forget the sides! Then give the wood a few hours to absorb the oil.

You have received a cake stand with a homemade cake as a gift and would like to have it again without small grease spots in the middle? No problem! You can also treat the products afterwards. We show you the whole process with our used Mini cake stand made of beech wood:

Of course, this process works not only with our wooden products made of beech wood, but also works wonderfully with oak. You can oil your trays to prevent stains when coffee spills or cookie crumbs remain. Oiling also works great with our cutting boards. This way, you can confidently arrange a cheese platter without greasy cheese leaving marks.

Please repeat this treatment at regular intervals. It is also very important that you do not put our wooden products in the dishwasher. Please only wash them with lukewarm, running water and dry them thoroughly with a cloth immediately afterwards. Also, please avoid direct sunlight and heat exposure.

Tell us about your experiences and tips for handling wooden products in the comments. We look forward to hearing from you!
